Pune: Devgad Hapus Arrives in Pune, Sells at Rs 21 Thousand for First Box
Market Yard, 28th November 2023: On Sunday (26th November), the first shipment of Devgad Hapus mangoes (Alphonso Mangoes) arrived at Bazar Samiti Pune’s Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard, marking the occasion of Yuvraj Kachi, former Vice President of Adte Association.
The mangoes, originating from Razzad Kachi’s orchard in Devgad, were brought to Pune from Mumbai. The first box, containing 5 dozen mangoes, fetched Rs 21 thousand. Subsequent boxes were sold at prices ranging from 15 to 11 thousand rupees per box.
The buyers, Jyotiram Birajdar and Jagannath Vanjari from Kothrud made the initial purchase. Mango dealer Yuvraj Kachi stated that the Devgad Hapus mango season will commence in phases, with the regular season expected to start in February.
