Pune, 12th August 2025: Thousands of devotees gathered at Pune’s iconic Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple on Tuesday to mark Angarki Chaturthi, an auspicious occasion in the Hindu calendar revered by followers of Lord Ganesha.

The day holds special significance for devotees, many of whom observe fasts and offer prayers to seek blessings for prosperity, happiness, and the removal of obstacles.

Traffic Measures for Crowd Management:
Anticipating a massive footfall, the Pune Traffic Police implemented temporary traffic restrictions around the temple in the city’s central area.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Road, leading to the temple, was closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m. onwards. Vehicles heading towards Swargate were diverted to Bajirao Road.

Movement from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk was prohibited, with traffic rerouted via Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) – Tilak Road – Alka Talkies Chowk – FC Road.

Vehicles travelling from Abhinav Chowk towards Shivajinagar were redirected through SG Barve Chowk – Jangali Maharaj Chowk – Khandoji Baba Chowk – Tilak Chowk – Tilak Road.

Police officials said the measures were necessary to ensure smooth crowd movement and prevent traffic snarls in the busy temple vicinity.
