Pune: DIAT And C-DAC Sign MOU For Development Of Quantum Computers

Pune, 29 July 2021: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune, signed an MoU on 28th July 2021 to collaborate for development of Quantum Computers. This was done as a part of Tech Fest 2021 of C-DAC during the session on Quantum Computing.

Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, DD R&D & Chairman DRDO, mentioned that DIAT and C-DAC coming together would result in meaningful collaboration towards the realization of Quantum Computers in the country. Dr. Hemant Darbari, Director General, C- DAC, said that like the first Super Computer of India came out of Pune, the Quantum Computer will also be coming from Pune. Dr. C. P. Ramanarayanan, Vice-Chancellor, DIAT, mentioned that it is very important to make India “future-ready” and successful development of Quantum Computers for Civil and Defence application is an inescapable and essential step towards that.

A large number of Senior Officers from DRDO, MeitY, DST, and other participants were present virtually during the event.
