Pune: DIAT Celebrates Engineers’ Day By Conducting International Webinar Under Sparc Program

Khadakwasla, September 15, 2020: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) has organized an International webinar on Nanostructured Semiconducting Materials for Energy Application from 15th – 17th September 2020 on the occasion of Engineer’s Day.

The event is being organized by the Department of Applied Chemistry where Eminent speakers from USA, UK, Canada, Sweden, and IITs & other Institutes will deliver talk over three days. The webinar aims to motivate the researchers to discuss the challenges in the development of materials for energy applications and find new solutions in this important area.

SPARC Programme of MHRD at DIAT is lead by Principal Investigator Professor PK Khanna who is hosting this international webinar. The event which was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Dr C P Ramanarayanan and the keynote lecture was delivered by Prof David Cole-Hamilton of the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland.

Around 100 registered participants attended the event online and the event will continue each day from 2:30 – 5:30 pm.  The students’ presentations have also been planned each day.

SPARC is a great international academic collaboration platform created by MHRD, Govt of India and hundreds of projects were sanctioned last year for boosting academic collaborations across India, under which DIAT also achieved a good collaborating project on white light materials in the Department of Applied Chemistry at DIAT.
