Pune, 31st October 2022: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has demanded from Mahametro, that Mahametro should pay Rs 2.33 crore for the pavilion arrangement and road works for the inauguration ceremony of the Metro. However, Mahametro has taken the stand that the Municipal Corporation should bear the said cost.

On March 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the passenger service metro for some distance during the inauguration ceremony.

As the Metro passenger service will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Municipal Corporation has completed the road work between Garware College and Kothrud. A big pavilion was also built at the inauguration site.

It was decided that the cost of the mandap arrangement would be borne by the municipality and Mahametro where Mahametro would take responsibility for the repair work of the curved road which had fallen into disrepair while working on the metro. Accordingly, both these works were done by the municipal corporation from a contractor.

After the work, the contractor asked the municipal corporation for the amount for the work. Therefore, the Municipal Corporation has corresponded with Mahametro five to six times. However, Mahametro has taken the stance that the municipal corporation should bear this cost. Mahametro has informed the Municipal Corporation that this amount should be diverted from the additional work of the double-storey flyover at Nalstop Chowk. However, the municipal corporation has refused to do so.
