Pune: Discontent Within NDA as Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barne Voices Displeasure
Maval, 10th June 2024 – Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister for the third time. However, less than 24 hours after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the government, some leaders within it started expressing displeasure. Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena leader and Maval MP Shrirang Barne has openly voiced his dissatisfaction about his party not receiving any Union Minister positions.
MP Shrirang Barne stated, “Single MPs from other parties in the NDA were elected and given ministries. Why has the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shown partiality against the Shinde Group? To be fair, even Ajit Pawar’s party should have been given a ministerial position, as Ajit Pawar went against his family. The BJP should have also appointed Satara MP Udayanraje Bhosale as a Union Minister.”
Three-time Maval MP Barne was considered a candidate for a Union Minister position. After his election, banners advocating “Barne for Union Minister” were seen in the Maval Lok Sabha constituency. However, since the Shinde-led Shiv Sena did not secure even one MP as a Union Minister, Barne has expressed his displeasure.
