Pune District: 8011 New COVID Cases, 65 Deaths Today; Record 57,583 People Given Vaccine In One Day

Pune, 1 April 2021: Today Pune district has reported the one of the highest number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in a single day. On the other hand, a record number of 57,583 people got vaccinated today.

According to the district administration, the test per million is 143348 in Pune, 71971 in Maharashtra and 88936 in India. A total of 8011 fresh Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive cases were reported today in the Pune district. Also, 5017 patients got discharged from hospitals while 65 people died today.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that to date the total number of COVID cases has reached 5,42,422. Out of this, 4,67,714 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals, while 10,039 people have died. There are about 64,838 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals and in-home isolation. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 29,16,234 people have been tested in the district.

The 5,42,422 patients include 2,73,446 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area; 1,42,251 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC); 8870 from Cantonment areas; 91,282 are from Rural areas, and 26,573 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.
