Pune: District Administration Appoints 31 Flying Squads To Ensure Supply Of Mucormycosis Disease Medicine

Pune, 20th May 2021: As the number of patients with Mucormycosis disease is increasing in the district, there is a shortage of medicines for this disease. To ensure the proper supply and distribution of the medicine, the district administration has appointed flying squads in the district.

 

The squad includes officers and employees of the Food and drug authority (FDA), revenue department, Police force. For Pune city, there are 12 squads, for Pimpri -Chinchwad and there is one squad for each tehsil in the district. A total of 31 squads have been appointed.

 

A control room has been established at the district collector office for the supply of Amphotericirin B injection and to prevent the black marketing and storage of the medicines. The assistant commissioner of the FDA and Tehsildar is in charge of this control room.

 

As the district administration took control of the medicine supply, the district collector also instructed the private distributed and suppliers to inform about the availability of medicines, daily demand etc. The collector also instructed the local administration to provide manpower for these squads. The Police department is instructed to prove security to the squad
