Pune, 16th July 2026: District Collector Jitendra Dudi on Thursday urged political parties to actively participate in the digitisation of voter enumeration forms as part of the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, saying the exercise is crucial to ensuring accurate and error-free voter lists.

Speaking at the weekly meeting with representatives of political parties at the Collector’s office, Dudi said the district administration was taking all necessary precautions to complete the revision process within the stipulated timeframe and called on political parties to extend full cooperation.

“The digitisation of enumeration forms is the most critical stage of the exercise. Political parties should ensure that their booth-level agents verify the lists maintained by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at least once a week so that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral rolls,” Dudi said.

He said two assistants had been appointed for every BLO to expedite the revision exercise, with 12,631 assistants currently deployed across the district. So far, 55% of the voter mapping work has been completed, while 53% of the enumeration forms have been distributed, he added.

The collector said voters who do not receive or submit enumeration forms could face the risk of their names being omitted from the electoral roll. He urged political parties to help ensure that every eligible voter receives, fills and submits the forms for digitisation.

Emphasising the need to speed up digitisation in urban areas, Dudi announced that the weekly coordination meeting with political parties would now be held every Monday at 2 pm, instead of Wednesdays, at the Collector’s office.

Deputy District Election Officer Meenal Kalaskar said 450 students would assist in the digitisation work in the Pune Cantonment Assembly constituency. She appealed to students from other Assembly constituencies in the district to volunteer for the exercise as well.
