Pune District Court Clerk Arrested For Taking Bribe Of Rs 1.5 Lakh; Case Registered In Shivajinagar Police Station
Shivajinagar, 2nd December 2022: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a district court clerk who demanded a bribe of Rs two lakh and received a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh. A case has been registered against him at Shivajinagar police station.
The arrested clerk’s name is Sachin Ashok Dethe (38), a resident of Rajgurunagar, Khed. A 23-year-old youth living in Hadapsar has filed a complaint in this regard. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Shivajinagar Police Station in this regard.
The complainant is a student. A case has been registered against his cousin. Dethe, a clerk in the district court at Shivajinagar, demanded a bribe of Rs two lakh from the complainant on Wednesday (November 30) to help his cousin in a related case and get rid of the case. At the end of the compromise, it was decided to pay Rs 1.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, the complainant filed a complaint in this regard with the ACB. A team of ACB verified the matter. After that, on Thursday (December 1), at around 8.45 pm, Dethe took a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh in front of the Ganesh Xerox shop outside the Shivajinagar court.
At that time the ACB officials took Dethe into custody. After that, a case was filed against him at Shivajinagar police station and he was arrested.
