Pune: Rickshaw Driver Permanently Paralyzed After Getting Hit By Passenger

Yerwada, 2nd December 2022: A rickshaw driver has been permanently paralyzed after being beaten up by a passenger because the meter was running too fast. Due to the impact of the beating, the driver’s vein ruptured and he bled internally. Now the driver has started stuttering without speaking clearly. This shocking incident happened in the Golf Club chowk.

 

A case has been registered against Malhar Subhash Patil who was sitting as a passenger in the rickshaw. Rickshaw driver Prasad Chhaganrao Palkar (59) has been injured. Yerwada police have registered a case against Patil based on the complaint.

 

According to the information given by the police, the complainant is a rickshaw driver and he drives a rickshaw in the Yerwada area. Six months ago, on April 18 at around 6.00 pm, Malhar Patil and some of his friends were sitting in a rickshaw to travel from Kalyaninagar to Bhosalenagar. Meanwhile, after the rickshaw arrived at Golf Club Chowk in Yerwada, the passenger told the complainant to take the rickshaw to Bhosalenagar by another route.

 

Reportedly, the accused also argued that the meter of the complainant’s rickshaw is running fast. While the rickshaw was running, he hit four to five punches to the complainant near the ear from behind. He was also beaten with his hands.

 

In this beating, the vein behind his left ear was ruptured and he suffered internal bleeding in his head. Because of this, he started having difficulty speaking. He is now stuttering rather than speaking clearly. He had lodged a complaint with the police.
