Pune District Got Rs 18,300 Crore Investment In 2020; Over 50,000 Jobs Created

Pune, December 31, 2020: Under Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0, Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) have been signed-in three phases with foreign companies and various leading companies in the country in the year 2020. A total of Rs 18,300 crore has been invested in Pune district and 54,064 jobs have been created. Pune alone accounted for 20 percent of the total investment in the state during the year. This includes various companies from sectors like infrastructure, electronics, automobiles and logistics. 

In June 2020, MoUs were signed with a total of seven companies, including PMI Electro Mobility, Hengli Engineering, Great Wall Motors, Hiranandani Logistics Park and others. Through this, an investment of Rs 7350 crore was made in Pune, while 7292 jobs were created. Then in November, six different foreign and domestic companies entered into MoUs with an investment of Rs 6,880 crore, creating 16,402 jobs. In December, Goyal Ganga, GG Metropolis, Gravis, Bajaj Auto, Amps Pharmatex Industries, Clean Science and Technology and Sonai Eatable India invested Rs 4,061 crore and created 30,370 jobs. 

With ambitious projects like two ring roads, availability of manpower, ample space and proximity to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, Pune is the preferred destination for companies.
