Pune District to Get Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan, DPR to Be Ready in Two Months

Pune, 12th February 2025: The District Tourism Development Plan aimed at boosting tourism across Pune will be fast-tracked, with a Detailed Project Report (DPR) set to be prepared within the next two months. A private agency has been entrusted with this task, and the plan is expected to be implemented over the next three years.
Pune district is home to diverse tourism attractions, including historical sites, religious places, forts, natural landscapes, and agri-tourism destinations. Recognizing its geographical and cultural richness, District Collector Jitendra Dudi has taken the initiative to develop a comprehensive tourism strategy. Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has also emphasized the need for immediate action in this regard.
Pawar had directed that an integrated tourism development plan should be formulated to highlight the historical and religious landmarks, forts, and significant monuments in all talukas of Pune district. Acting on these instructions, a tourism roadmap is being prepared, covering religious, historical, medical, agri, and eco-tourism sectors.
“The private agency assigned to this project will submit the DPR within two months, after which the implementation phase will begin,” Collector Dudi informed.
Once executed, the plan is expected to enhance tourism infrastructure, improve visitor experiences, and boost the local economy by attracting more tourists to Pune’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
