Pune Division Hosts 5th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting, Addressing Passenger Concerns and Development

Pune, 20th December 2023: The Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) convened its 5th meeting at the Divisional Railway Manager office’s conference hall in Pune Division on December 20, 2023. Led by Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey and coordinated by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve, the session focused on addressing passenger concerns and devising developmental strategies.

Members including Shivnath Biyani, Gopal Tiwari, Bashir Sutar, Suresh Mane, Kishor Bhorawat, Nikhil Kachi, Tanaji Karale, Adv. Appasaheb Shinde, Ajit Chougule, Dilip Batwal, and Vijay Chawan actively participated, advocating for improvements in railway services.

Indu Dubey, the Divisional Railway Manager, shed light on developmental works, infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing activities in Pune Division. She emphasized safety measures, track maintenance, and system strengthening, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to enhancing passenger services and revenue generation.

Members raised diverse issues, urging the introduction of intercity express services between Pune-Kolhapur, reinstatement of Mumbai-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express, and enhanced train availability for daily commuters from Miraj to Kolhapur. Suggestions also included route expansions and new services like Kolhapur-Kalaburagi and Miraj-Belgavi trains, emphasizing the need for Lonand station’s development, improved station facilities, and increased security measures.

Indu Dubey assured prompt actions to address these concerns, promising proactive steps to resolve issues and enhance passenger experiences within Pune Division.
