Pune: Doctor Commits Suicide After Killing Wife And Two Children In Daund
Daund, 21st June 2023: A doctor allegedly took his own life after brutally killing his wife and two children. The incident came to light yesterday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Dr Atul Shivaji Diwekar (42), Pallavi Atul Diwekar (39), Adivat Atul Diwekar (9), and Vedanthi Atul Diwekar (6). The Diwekar family resided in Chaitrali Park Society in the Warvand area of Daund. Dr Diwekar was a veterinary specialist, while his wife, Pallavi, worked as a teacher in a local school.
On Tuesday, the door of the Diwekar family’s residence remained closed throughout the day, raising suspicions among their neighbors. Concerned, the neighbors attempted to make contact with the family, but received no response. Growing increasingly alarmed, they decided to open the door and were met with a harrowing scene.
Dr Atul was discovered hanging lifeless, while Pallavi’s lifeless body lay nearby, indicating she had been strangled to death using a rope.
Pune rural police are conducting further investigation.
