Pune: Dog Abandonment Post Sparks Outrage, But Investigation Reveals Truth

Sahakar Nagar, 7th December 2024: A post alleging that a dog had been abandoned in a flat in Pune’s Sahakar Nagar recently went viral on social media, sparking massive outrage among animal lovers. Many expressed concern, condemning the situation, advocating for the dog’s rights, and criticizing the owners’ actions.

However, upon investigation, it was found that the dog had not been abandoned but was left alone for just two hours while the owners attended a wedding. Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Fire Brigade visited the premises to verify the situation. Nilesh Mahajan, spokesperson for the PMC Fire Brigade, stated, “The family was out only for two hours to attend a wedding. I personally confirmed this. We spoke to the family and urge everyone not to spread false information.”
