Pune: Dr. Ajay Taware Accused Of Conspiracy To Tamper Blood Samples In Kalyani Nagar Porsche Case; Hearing Scheduled On June 10

Pune, 7th June 2025: In a significant development in the high-profile Kalyani Nagar Porsche case, the government has informed the special court that Dr. Ajay Taware, former head of the Forensic Medicine Department at Sassoon General Hospital, was allegedly involved in a conspiracy to tamper with blood samples of the juvenile accused and his friends. The prosecution claims that Dr. Taware coordinated with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shrihari Halnor and hospital staffer Atul Ghatkambale to replace the original samples, thereby destroying key evidence.
The information was submitted before Special Judge KP Kshirsagar, where Dr. Taware has filed a plea seeking discharge from the case. Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hire strongly opposed the plea, asserting that technical analysis of Dr. Taware’s mobile phone records revealed communication with both Dr. Halnor and Ghatkambale on the day of the incident, despite Taware claiming he was on leave.
According to the prosecution, witness statements confirm that Dr. Taware was under pressure from the juvenile’s parents to manipulate the samples and played an “active and important” role in the evidence-tampering conspiracy. The court has scheduled a hearing on Dr. Taware’s discharge plea for 10th June, when his legal team is expected to present their defense.
The juvenile driver and his friends were brought to Sassoon Hospital for blood tests following the fatal accident. Investigations later revealed that a group including businessman Vishal Agarwal, his wife Shivani, and others—Arunkumar Singh, Ashpak Makandar, Amar Gaikwad, Aditya Sood, and Ashish Mittal—allegedly colluded to bribe hospital staff and officials to replace the blood samples.
Police investigations further established that bribes were routed through hospital attendant Atul Ghatkambale to reach Dr. Halnor and Dr. Taware. Charges under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Motor Vehicles Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act have been filed against the accused.
