Pune DRM appreciates commercial dept staffs for helping passengers
Pune, July 10, 2019 : During the recent water logging in Mumbai – Pune section a significant number of trains were delayed or short terminated at Pune and were even diverted by alternative route resulting into huge number of passengers being stranded at the station.
The officers and staff of commercial department, Pune railway division, efficiently managed the crowd by guiding them for boarding the next available train or usage of alternative modes and also arranging for the refund of un-used tickets. The passengers were regularly informed about the status of the trains through public announcements and also through a ‘Help Desk’. The Commercial Control staff also co-ordinated with the officials of state road transport for arranging extra buses between Pune – Mumbai.
On 28/06/2019, an agitation was held in one of the sub-urban station. The mob was controlled judiciously by the ladies batch of Ticket Checking staff along with a lady RPF. They handled the situation sensibly and warranted the smooth running of trains in the section.
By recognising their dedication and determination, all these staffs were felicitated by DRM Milind Deouskar in presence of all the officers. Senior DCM Sunil Mishra has appealed all rail users to co-operate with the Railway administration during such natural calamities and untoward incidents.
