Pune: Drug Peddler Arrested in Sadashiv Peth, Weapons and Charas Seized

Pune, 28th May 2023: The Crime Branch successfully apprehended a drug dealer in Sadashiv Peth, resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of sharp weapons and charas.

 

The arrested individual, identified as Sagar Subhash Modak (43 years old, resident of Orchid Building, Natubagh, 1367, Sadashiv Peth), was found in possession of various weapons amounting to a total value of five lakh nineteen thousand.

 

Policeman Aniket Babar from Unit One of the Crime Branch, Pune City Police, received information regarding the sale of charas in the Natubagh area of Sadashiv Peth. Acting swiftly, a police team set up a trap and successfully apprehended Modak. During the subsequent interrogation, it was discovered that he also had a cache of sharp weapons. A total of 352 grams of charas, three swords, two kukris, one sattur, one axe, and one rapi were seized from Modak.

 

A case has been registered against Modak at Khadak police station. This operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner Sunil Pawar and Senior Police Inspector Shabbir Syed. The team included police personnel Ashish Kawthekar, Sunil Kulkarni, Ajay Jadhav, Aniket Babar, Rahul Makhare, Shashikant Darekar, Dutta Sonwane, Vitthal Salunke, Tushar Malvadkar, and Ruksana Nadaf.
