Pune : ‘Drunk’ woman hits Nano car 29 times with her Duster SUV in Bavdhan

Pune, August 21, 2019 : A woman has been booked by Hinjewadi police station, Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate, for allegedly damaging a Nano car in Ramnagar colony in Bavdhan around 5.45 am on Tuesday. She had also damaged another car parked nearby.

The incident has been captured by CCTV cameras. The woman driving black Renault SUV can be seen speeding and hitting a Nano car first. She kept on hitting the Nano many times in front of Shree Vihar society and another one in front of Marval Memories society. The SUV owner, a resident of Rustic Dale society, was tracked down and the main gate CCTV footage has been handed over to Hinjewadi police station.

Darsh Chawla (28), owner of the Nano car, has filed the complaint against the woman. He is not aware why his car was damaged.

Senior Police Inspector Yashwant Gavari, in-charge of Hinjawadi police station, said that the woman has been booked for offence under 427 (damage to property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police said that the woman is under depression (as told by her husband to police) and also taking medicine.
