Pune: Dry Cleaning Company 24Klen Booked For Polluting Pavana River, PCMC Files Complaint With Wakad Police
Thergaon, 10th November 2023: The Pavana River in Kejudevi embankment, Thergaon, has been facing pollution issues recently, marked by the formation of white foam and unpleasant odours.
A survey conducted by the Environment and Drainage Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) revealed that the 24 Klen (Klenfab Services LLP) in Tathawade was discharging chemical water from dry cleaning processes into municipal drainage pipes without proper treatment or licensing.
The discharged chemical water, observed to be dark bluish and foamy, has contributed to the pollution problem in the Pavana River. Authorities, including health inspectors and junior engineers, have taken legal action against the company by filing a case with the Wakad police station.
