Pune, 7th July 2021: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken big action and arrested Girish Chaudhary, son-in-law of former Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse. According to news agency ANI, his son-in-law was called for questioning on Tuesday, later he was arrested there.

Earlier in January this year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Eknath Khadse for over six hours in connection with a 2016 land deal. In the month of January itself, his daughter was also summoned by the ED and had a long questioning.

In fact, Khadse had resigned from the Devendra Fadnavis-led cabinet in 2016 following allegations regarding the land deal. It is alleged that he misused his position in the purchase of government land for his family. Khadse has repeatedly denied the allegations. After this, in the year 2020, Eknath Khadse broke ties with BJP and joined NCP.
