Pune: Eight Arrested With Fake Weapon License From Jammu And Kashmir

Pune 10th Oct 2023: The Pune City Police have arrested eight people for making fake weapon license by forging the signs of district magistrate of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident came to light after one of the accused in the case was earlier apprehended by police with revolver.

According to the police, the officials of the Wanawadi police had received information about a suspect in the Ramtekdi area. The police team accordingly laid a trap and the accused identified as Santosh Jainath Shukla (50), a resident of Uttar Pradesh was apprehended. A country made revolver was recovered from him and a case under relevant sections was registered.

During the further investigation in the matter, the police team found fake weapon license from the accused and involvement of few more accused was revealed. The investigation team then arrested Ramprasad Buddha Paswan (35), Rajesh Bablu Paswan (35), Dinesh Jagdish Paswan (54), all three residents of Fatehpur, Uttarpradesh and Imran Mohammad Jimmy Khan (50), Mohammad Bilal Mohammad Nisar (30) both residents of Rajori district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A total of eight single bore rifles, 28 love rounds and fake weapon licenses having sign of district magistrate of Anantnag and Rajori worth Rs 4,56,240 were seized. The matter was forwarded to the Jammu Kashmir administration and after receiving a detailed report in the matter two more accused identified as Sahil Kumar Chamanlal Sharma (25) and Gautam Deshrai Sharma (23), both residents of Rajauri district of Jammu and Kashmir were arrested. Further investigation led to seizure of more fake weapon licenses and weapons from their possession. The police are investigating further in the matter.
