Pune: Elderly Man Duped Of Rs 10 Lakh With Lure Of Amul Dairy Distributorship
Pune, 18th September 2022: Amul Dairy from Anand, a city in Gujarat is famous all over the country. Taking advantage of the same, a cyber thief from Anand has cheated a senior citizen for Rs 10.42 lakh on the pretext of giving a distribution franchise of Amul Dairy.
It has been found that the fraudster has used the Indian Bank account at Anand. A 69-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with the Bundgarden police station in this regard.
Accordingly, the police have registered a case against the cyber thief and the bank account holder. This incident took place between August 3 and September 3.
According to the information provided by the police, the accused called the complainant on the pretext of giving Amul Dairy Distribution franchise. For that, her husband was asked to send money to the bank account giving different reasons.
Amul has its headquarters in Anand, Gujarat. Therefore, the complainant’s husband believed him by asking him to pay the money in the Indian Bank account there. In this way, he paid Rs 10.42 lakh in one month. However, since they were making demands, when they realised that they had been cheated, they rushed to the police. Police Inspector Satpute is further investigating the case.
