Pune, 10th June 2021: Shirur MLA Ashok Pawar met Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil and submitted an appeal letter to create a new separate police station in Wagholi. The MLA requested that there should be a separate police station for Wagholi and Uruli Kanchan police station should be put under Pune Rural police’s jurisdiction.

“Lonikand police station is now under Pune City Police. Wagholi is the largest village under the Lonikand police station. Hence, police personnel are overburdened. Therefore, we have requested the home minister to set up a new police station for the Wagholi area. There are also many small villages under the Uruli Kanchan police station. Thus, we have requested to keep them under Pune Rural police,” said Shirur MLA Ashok Pawar.
