Pune: Estranged Wife and Family Steal Jewellery, Laptop, Phone and Burn Clothes; Husband Complains to Police

Lonikand, 31st October 2024: A woman living separately from her husband due to a family dispute allegedly stole items worth Rs 1.5 lakh from his home with the help of her mother and brothers. The stolen items reportedly included gold jewellery, a laptop, and a mobile phone. Additionally, the group allegedly burned the husband’s clothes while leaving.

This incident occurred at Wade Phata, Pune. An FIR has been registered at Lonikand Police Station.

According to police, the couple got married in married in 2014. However, frequent arguments and disputes reportedly led the woman to often return to her parent’s home in Solapur with their children. In 2022, she filed an alimony case against her husband under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005 at the Family Court in Solapur, and the hearing is ongoing.

Meanwhile, she and her family allegedly broke into her husband’s house in Wade Phata, stealing household items and burning his clothes.
