Pune, 6th August 2025: In a dramatic turn of events, former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) corporator Kishore Shinde and his party workers stormed into the office of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram during an ongoing meeting. The group was asked to wait outside, but, growing impatient, they entered the office and began arguing.

Eyewitnesses say the PMC Commissioner was holding a meeting about a cleanliness drive when the MNS group interrupted. Commissioner Ram reportedly asked Shinde and his colleagues, in Hindi, to leave the office. This angered Shinde, who started shouting and demanded that the Commissioner speak to him in Marathi. Shinde allegedly threatened the Commissioner, saying, “Speak in Marathi! You are in Maharashtra. If you don’t, we will send you out. We will come to your home and beat you.” The shouting escalated, and Shinde reportedly moved towards the Commissioner before being stopped by others present in the room.

Speaking to the media outside, Shinde said, “When we entered, the Commissioner rudely asked who we were and told us to get out. I told him that I was a corporator, but he would not listen and kept speaking rudely, which led to the argument.”

Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, on his part, stated, “He threatened to beat me at my home. The CCTV footage in the PMC office can be checked for proof. Marathi culture should not be defamed this way. I have worked for many years in Maharashtra, but I have never seen such behavior. These MNS workers are defaming Marathi culture by barging in, disrespecting officials, and bullying in Pune. It is very disappointing.”
