Aundh, 20th February 2024: Construction work on the flyover and metro pillar is currently underway at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road. Consequently, the road is narrow on both sides. Owing to persistent traffic, the area often experiences traffic jams. The situation has further deteriorated due to the ongoing construction of metro pillars.

To mitigate traffic congestion at University Chowk, it is imperative to modify the route and schedule of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation’s (MSRDC) Shivneri buses travelling between Pune Station and Mumbai and Thane via Ganeshkhind Road.

After consultations with various experts and conducting a survey, Shashikant Borate, Deputy Commissioner of Pune City Traffic Branch, has decided to implement an experimental change in the route and schedule of MSRDC’s Shivneri buses on Ganeshkhind Road, starting from February 20, 2024, until further notice. The buses will operate between 08:00 am and 10:30 pm. The temporary modifications are as follows:

Beginning February 20, 2024, from 08:00 am to 10:30 pm, the entry of buses travelling to and from Mumbai and Thane via Ganeshkhind Road, University Chowk, Aundh from Shimla Office Chowk will be restricted until the completion of the flyover and metro construction on Ganeshkhind Road.

Alternate Route: Turn right from Range Hills corner from Ganeshkhind Road and proceed along Range Hills Road to Sai Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Khadki via Bremen Chowk, and Aundh Road to Mumbai and Thane. On the return journey, you will follow the same route back to Ganeshkhind Road.
