Pune Expo 2024 Inaugurated by MCCIA: A Hub for Innovation, Safety, and Sustainability
Pune, 13th December 2024: The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (MCCIA) launched the highly anticipated Pune Expo 2024 at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Center in Chinchwad on Friday (December 13). This three-day event, inaugurated at the hands of PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh and MSIDC MD Rajendra Singh, gathers prominent industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss advancements in manufacturing, safety protocols, and sustainability practices.
The key speakers included Deepak Karandikar, Past President of MCCIA, Shekhar Singh, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner, Sanjay Giri, Joint Director of Industrial Safety and Health, Rajendra Nimbalkar, Managing Director, Maharashtra State Small Industries Development Corporation, and George Verghese, CHRO of Kirloskar Group.
The event, hosting 150+ stalls of various exhibitors, commenced with an opening address by Prashant Girbane, Director General, MCCIA, who highlighted Pune’s leadership in engineering exports and the Expo’s pivotal role in fostering industrial collaboration.
The session on AI and IoT in Manufacturing explored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in optimizing manufacturing efficiency. Industry experts, including Abhijit Deogirikar (CopperCloud Technologies) and Sujata Tilak (Ascent Intellimation), presented case studies on IoT applications, while Himanshu Jadhav (Jendamark India) discussed AI’s impact on predictive maintenance and quality assurance.
Session on industrial safety addressed workplace hazards. This seminar featured speakers like Sanjay Giri and Milind Ogale (MIDC), who discussed fire prevention and compliance measures. Technological safety solutions were demonstrated by Nitin Joshi (Vighnaharta Technologies).
The session ‘MCCIA Sustainability Dialogue 2024’ focused on fostering green practices and highlighted initiatives such as decarbonization and sustainable procurement. A panel discussion featuring leaders like Mayura Bhusari (Kirloskar Group) emphasized sustainability as a business imperative.
