Pune: Externed Criminal Arrested in Hinjawadi; Fake Currencies, Weapons, and Vehicles Seize

Hinjawadi, 11th May 2024: Against the backdrop of a combing operation conducted by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, an externed criminal was discovered in possession of a Koyta weapon. Upon further interrogation, fake currency amounting to Rs 28,000 was seized from him, along with 10 two-wheelers and 2 auto-rickshaws. This incident occurred in Hinjawadi.

The individual arrested in connection with this incident is Akshay, also known as Sonya Kaluram Hulawale, aged 29 and a resident of Sakhare Wasti, Hinjawadi.

According to information provided by Zone 2 Deputy Commissioner of Police Bapur Bangar, against the backdrop of the Lok Sabha elections, a combing operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of the Hinjawadi Police Station. During this operation, the police encountered Akshay Hulawale, who was found in possession of a Koyta. Hulawale had been externed by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police from the Pune district for a period of two years starting from 20th November 2023. However, before the expiration of his externment period, he was found within the district.

A crime has been registered against Hulawale for his involvement in the production of fake currency. Although his accomplices were arrested earlier, he had been absconding until he was apprehended by the Hinjawadi Police. Hulawale, along with four accomplices, was engaged in the production of counterfeit currency in Wai, Satara. The police confiscated 56 fake currency notes valued at Rs 28,000 from Hulawale.

Hulawale is also notorious for vehicle theft. Upon further interrogation, the police seized 10 two-wheelers and 2 auto-rickshaws linked to him. Hulawale has 19 criminal cases registered against him across various police stations including Hinjawadi, Wakad, Sangvi, Pimpri, Dighi, and Sinhagad Road.
