Pune: Fake Branded Clothes Worth Rs 1.22 Lakh Seized In Wagholi, Two Shopkeepers Booked

Pune, 14th November 2021: Two textile traders who were selling counterfeit cloth of Raymond under the brand name of Chucky Raymond on the lightweight fabric have been booked by Pune Police.

Raymond Company officials noticed the matter and lodged a complaint with the police in Wagholi. Manoj Ganpat Pai of Raymond Company lodged a complaint in this regard.

A case has been registered against Mahadev Shankar Savargave of Manohar Textile and Santosh Vishal Seni of Devashri Textile. Both the shops were raided with the help of Lonikand police station after receiving information that they were selling fake clothes.

A total of 51 cloth rolls worth Rs 1 lakh 22 thousand were seized from both the shops. The shop owners have been charged under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, Copyright Act sections 51 and 63. Further investigation is underway.
