Pune: Family Of Deceased Policeman Gets ‘Diwali Gift’ From Maharashtra Home Minister

Pune, November 14, 2020: Maharashtra state home minister Anil Deshmukh sent a letter to the family of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Dilip Londhe, who was killed by the wrath of the deadly COVID-19. The minister assured the family that they will be allowed to retain the government accommodation till the date of retirement of Londhe.

Bringing the generous letter to their notice, Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta visited the family and handed over the letter written by Deshmukh.

The family of the martyred policeman was deeply moved by the gratitude expressed by the police department. Londhe, a resident of Somwar Peth police line, was posted at Faraskhana police station. He died while on duty during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing happiness during the festive season, Gupta personally visited the residence and handed over the letter to Dilip Londhe’s widow Usha and son Ketan. “The sensitivity shown by the police force has given me the strength to survive”, said the deceased policeman’s wife.

In the letter given to Usha, Home Minister Deshmukh has assured the government accommodation will be provided to the family till the deceased policeman’s date of retirement.

Gupta assured the family that the entire police force is with them. Pradip Deshmukh, Samarth Police Inspector Vishnu Tamhane and Vinod Pawar were also present on the occasion.
