Pune, 29th September 2022: The issue of bad food quality at the hostel mess on the campus of MIT ADT University in Loni has affected over 100 students, alleged parents. Many students suffered from diarrhoea and vomiting, after eating food and drinking unclean water from the hostel mess.
Meanwhile, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has issued a notice to the mess contractor after violation of food safety standards was found.
“Our team has taken food samples and is awaiting a lab report. We are getting repeated complaints about the bad food quality. The canteen may be sealed”, said an FDA official.
When contacted, MIT ADT University Registrar Dr Mahesh Chopde told PunekarNews.in, “We have suspended the manager. The management is taking good care of the students. Some students are trying to defame because of their own issues and groupism.”
A parent told PunekarNews.in, “The students were served food in which worms were found. We sent many emails to the university management but still students are being provided unhygienic food.”
