Pune, October 10, 2020: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has prepared 20 sample question papers for each subject which will be available to final year students on their website from today. The objective is to give students an idea of how the real examination will be held, so as to allow students to prepare for the final year examination. A series of mock tests have also started since Thursday for students to practice and understand the format of the actual exam. Over a lakh of students appeared for the mock test that began on October 8, ahead of the actual examination scheduled from October 12.

The university has appointed an agency which will be conducting the online and offline examination for final year students. Over 2.81 lakh students had requested for logins to the mock test. Out of these over 1.28 lakh students sat for the mock exam on Thursday, while more than 1.55 lakh students took the mock test on Friday. While taking the online mock test many students complained of technical errors and also stated that even after repeated attempts to register a complaint with the department, they were unable to reach them. The multiple choice questions (MCQ) were based on general knowledge and a few beyond syllabus. Therefore, students were confused and expressed disappointment.

In order to help students prepare for the actual exam, the university decided to release 20 sets of question banks for each subject that can be referred by the final year students. However, the examination department officials have clarified that these question banks will contain only questions and no answers will be given. The students can carefully read the questions and will be able to understand the appropriate answers. Moreover, the main exam can have questions from these question banks as well. Students can avail the sample question papers from Saturday afternoon on the university website.
