Pune: FIR against salon and spa owner in Koregaon Park for operating during the lockdown

Pune, June 15, 2020: An FIR has been registered against owner and employee of a salon and spa in Koregaon Park for allegedly operating in lockdown period by violating government order. At present, there is a restriction on the opening of the salon and spa.

Acting on a tip-off received by Police Naik Mohsin Shaikh of Crime Branch Unit 2, a team raided Trumpp Spa and Salon after a decoy customer verified the information. When the police team reached the salon, one of the staff Jahangir Dilmohammad Alam (22) was engaged in hair washing of a customer.

DCP (Crime Branch) Bachchan Singh said that an FIR has been registered against the staff Alam and owner Priyanka Prabhakarrao Malah (25), a resident of Koregaon Park. They have been charged for offences under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the National Disaster Management Act and Maharashtra COVID19 Regulations 2020. Koregaon Park police station is further investigating the case.
