Pune: Fire Accident Case At Urvade Company; Expert Report From Kamgar Kriti Samiti Submitted To District Collector

Pune, July 7, 2021: A fire broke out in an SVS company at Urwade in Mulshi taluka, killing 17 workers. In this regard, a committee of experts has been appointed by the trade union joint action committee to investigate the factors behind the incident, the report of which was submitted to the district collector today.



Taking serious note of this report, the government has appointed a Green Tribunal Committee at the national level in this regard. The action committee also demanded that the report be submitted to the state government and time be given to discuss the findings of the report.



State General Secretary of Bharatiya Kamgar Sena Dr Raghunath Kuchik, Ajit Abhyankar of Situ, Kishor Dhokale of Rashtriya Shramik Ekta Mahasangh, Arun Borade of NCP Kamgar Cell, Kailas Kadam, Manoj Patil, Vasant Pawar, Manohar Gadekar, Chandrakant Tiwari of Vima Kamgar Sanghatana and Anil Soham were present on the occasion.


The fire at the SVS Company in Urawade has been a deliberate violation of all labour laws and special factory and safety acts by employer management over the years. The action committee said in a statement to the district collector that the incident took place due to a conspiracy between the officials of the concerned government departments and the owners.
