Pune: Fire At Store In MarketYard, No Injuries Reported

Market Yard, 27th March 2023: A fire broke out at the Agarwal Traders store, located in MarketYard Pune, Gate No. 5, Shop No. 490, where retail and wholesale of dry fruits, spices, and grocery were being sold. The area of the shop and godown affected by the fire was approximately 3000 sq. ft.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported at the scene of the fire.

After receiving a call from the Pune fire control room, the nearest sub-station, Gangadham fire station, immediately dispatched a fire engine to the location. Additionally, another fire engine and two tankers were dispatched from the fire control room to help contain the fire.

Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters laid five hose lines on all four sides of the godown and the shop, and water was first started on the fire. Firefighters climbed to the upper side of the godown with the help of a ladder and broke the upper sheets using cutters. They then watered from there and controlled the fire in just 10 minutes and started the cooling work.

Three fire engines and two tankers were used during the operation, and 15 Jawans and Station Duty Officer Pradip Khedekar and Sunil Naiknaware led the entire operation.
