Pune: Fire Breaks Out At Modern Dairy In Camp, Swift Response Underway

Camp, 22nd January 2024: A major fire erupted at the well-known Modern Bakery located at Shrikrishna Tarun Mandal in Pune Camp around 9 pm. The bakery, spanning two floors, witnessed the outbreak of flames near an iron trap and sheet on the terrace.

Upon receiving alerts, the Pune Fire Brigade, along with reinforcements from Kondhwa Fire Brigade, swiftly responded to the scene. Two water tankers and personnel from Nayudu, and Gangadham fire stations were also mobilized to combat the blaze.

Firefighters strategically sprayed water from all four sides, managing to bring the fire under control within approximately 20 minutes.

Subsequently, the teams initiated cooling operations to ensure complete extinguishment. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported at the scene.

The aftermath of the incident revealed significant damage to the bakery’s infrastructure. The iron columns of the roof were bent, and a substantial quantity of packaging materials used for the dairy, including paper, cardboard, thermocol, and a generator, were consumed by the flames.

Fire officers Vijay Bhilare, Kailas Shinde, and Rohit Ranpise were present at the site, overseeing the firefighting efforts. An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to provide more insights into the incident.

The prompt and coordinated response from the fire brigades played a crucial role in preventing further escalation of the fire and safeguarding the surrounding areas.
