Pune: Fire Broke Out In Flat Due To Gas Leakage; No Casualties Reported

Kirkatwadi, 21st December 2022: A fire due to a gas leak broke out in a flat in Dhareshwar Angan society in Shivnagar within the limits of Kirkatwadi village on Sinhagad road.

The clothes and other items of the house were burnt in the fire but due to the timely arrival of the fire brigade of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), no casualties were reported. Firefighters brought the fire under control and stopped the leak from the gas cylinder.

A man and his wife are living as tenants in the fourth-floor flat in Dhareshwar Angan society. In the morning, both of them went to work. Other residents first reported that a large amount of smoke was coming out of the flat around 12 pm.

The fire brigade was immediately informed about this. Other residents of the society immediately came down and waited.

The Jawans managed to control the fire by breaking the glass and the door. The jawans stopped the gas leakage from the cylinder. Clothes and other items in the house have been burnt due to the fire. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in this accident.

Hemant Rane and Sunil Parasaiyya, the employees of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) reached the concerned place as soon as they received the information about the fire. The woman living in a concerned flat had lit a lamp in the house temple in the morning.

MSEDCL employees suspect that the fire may have started due to gas leakage after inspection and it spread due to the lighted lamp.
