Pune: Fire Destroys 90 Stalls and 2 Tempos At Vegetable Market On Handewadi Road
Handewadi, 21 February 2023: A massive fire broke out around 2 am today at a vegetable market located in Chintamani Nagar on Hadapsar-Handewadi Road. Fire engines were dispatched from three different fire stations, and fire personnel were able to control the blaze within 25 minutes of arriving at the scene.
While no casualties were reported, the damage caused to the market was extensive. Nearly 90 stalls selling vegetables were severely affected, with the majority of the goods being destroyed. In addition, two tempos were burnt in the fire. The cause of the incident has yet to be determined.
Pramod Sonawane, the Fire Officer, and several jawans, including Tandel Vilas Dadas, Animish Kondgekar, Chandrakant Navale, Baba Chavan, Dashrath Malvadkar, Vishal Yadav, and Prakash Shelar, were among those who played a vital role in extinguishing the flames.
