Pune: Fire Engulfs Shops In Juna Bazaar; Eight Shops Burnt, No Casualties
Pune, 18th January 2023: A massive fire broke out at shops in the Juna Bazaar at Mangalwar Peth in Pune this morning. At least eight shops have been gutted by the fire. Eight vehicles of the fire department reached the spot to extinguish the fire. After trying for half an hour, the firemen managed to extinguish the fire.
According to Pankaj Jagtap, a Fire Department Official, the fire was reported at Juna Bazaar around 7.30 am. After that, eight vehicles reached the spot within a few minutes and managed to bring the fire under control by spraying water from all sides. In this incident, the goods of eight to 10 shops were burnt. These shops had electrical materials and automobiles.
He said there was a loss of lakhs of rupees in this incident. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained.
