Pune: Fire Incident in Boys’ Hostel at Harka Nagar Leaves Property Damaged, No Casualties Reported

Bhavani Peth, 24th April 2024: At 4:38 PM today, authorities swiftly responded to reports of a fire outbreak at the boys’ hostel within the premises of the Golden Jubilee Technical Institute located in Harka Nagar, Bhavani Peth. A fire tender and a water tanker were promptly dispatched from the force headquarters upon receiving the distress call.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered flames engulfing room number 04 on the second floor of the hostel building. Acting swiftly, personnel donned breathing apparatus (BA sets) and initiated firefighting operations to ensure the safety of all occupants. Within a span of twenty minutes, the blaze was successfully contained, averting any potential casualties.

No injuries were reported in the incident. However, the fire caused significant damage to property, including mattresses, benches, fans, and other essential items within the affected area. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

The successful containment of the fire was attributed to the commendable efforts of fire brigade drivers Atul Mohite, Dattatray Wagh, and Tandel Mangesh Pragne, alongside jawans Azim Shaikh, Sagar Thombre, Ajay Kokane, Kishore Karbhal, Mayur Dhube, Sanket Sarde, and Sagar Shirke.
