Pune: Fire Incidents In Mohammadwadi, Yewalewadi And Hadapsar Today; No Casualty Reported

Pune, 16th February 2024: A series of fire incidents occurred today in different parts of Pune. They were controlled by the fire brigade and no injuries or fatalities were reported in any of the incidents.

1. Tarawade Wasti, Mohammadwadi:
Around 2:46 AM, seven two-wheelers parked in a building caught fire, leading to a prompt response from the Kaleborate Nagar Fire Station of the Fire Brigade. Residents attempted to douse the flames with water before the fire brigade arrived. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire using water, though the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Four two-wheelers were destroyed, while three others sustained varying degrees of damage.

2. Pansare Nagar, Yewalewadi:
At 05:28 AM, fire brigade received a call about a moving four-wheeler catching fire while entering a building at Pansare Nagar in Yewalewadi. The Kondhwa Budruk Fire Station vehicle quickly reached the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire by using water. The vehicle, identified as a CNG Skoda, was completely engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

3. Handewadi Chowk, Hadapsar:
At 01:55 PM, a call was received about fire in a furniture shop at Handewadi Chowk, Hadapsar. The fire prompted the dispatch of two water tankers from Kondhwa Budruk, Kaleborate Nagar, Katraj, and the PMC Main Fire Stations. Fire officers successfully tackled the blaze from all sides, preventing its spread to a nearby hotel. As a precautionary measure, three LPG cylinders were removed from the hotel. Two bikes inside the furniture shop were completely burnt, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
