Pimpri, 16th February 2024: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will provide financial support of 6 lakhs 50 thousand to the family of Sarthak Harshvardhan Kamble, the deceased student who lost his life by falling from the staircase railing at PCMC’s Hutatma Chaphekar Vidyamandir school in Chinchwad.

Sarthak, while playing at Hutatma Chaphekar Vidyamandir in Chinchwad, engaged in sliding along the railing of the school stairs. He had attended a scholarship class on the top floor and had another class on the ground floor afterwards. Opting for the playful route, he slid through the railing, a common way of navigating for many children.

Unfortunately, while sliding along the railing, Sarthak lost his balance and suffered a significant impact on his head as he fell. He was immediately transferred to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) in Pimpri, where he was declared dead on arrival. Despite Sarthak’s father being employed and his mother managing household responsibilities, their financial situation is not favourable.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, along with Additional Commissioners Pradip Jambhale-Patil and Vijaykumar Khorate, met with Sarthak’s grieving parents.

Assistant Commissioner of the PCMC’s Education Department, Vijaykumar Thorat, told Punekar News, “Sarthak’s family will receive assistance of 5 lakh rupees from PCMC, after the approval of the Maharashtra State Government. Additionally, the central government, through the Rajiv Gandhi Family Insurance Scheme, will provide Rs 1.5 lakhs to Sarthak’s family. An investigation is underway to gather comprehensive details on the matter.”
