Pune: Firecrackers Above 125 Decibels Of Noise Are Prohibited; Order Of Pimpri Chinchwad City Police Commissioner

Pimpri, 21st October 2022: In the background of the Diwali festival, Pimpri Chinchwad City Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde has completely prohibited the bursting of noise-polluting firecrackers from 10.00 pm to 6 am in the area of ​​Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate from October 24 midnight to 12.00 am on 23 November 2022 as per Maharashtra Police Act 1951.

 

The bursting of all chain firecrackers with more than 100 firecrackers and creating noise above 125 decibels is also prohibited during this period. Indiscriminately discharging any firecrackers or discharging or throwing any firecrackers or fireworks within 50 feet of any street or road, producing, selling or using firecrackers producing a sound of 125 decibels within 4 meters from the place where a firecracker is set off is prohibited.

 

 

In the case of chain firecrackers of 50 to 100 and 100 and above, the noise limit should not be more than 110, 115 and 125 decibels respectively up to a distance of 4 meters from the place of the firing of firecrackers.

The order also states that the person who violates this order will be liable to legal punishment as per Section 131 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
