Pune: Firing Over Minor Dispute in Mangalwar Peth; Two Arrested, No Injuries Reported

Mangalwar Peth, 26th May 2025: A firing incident over a minor dispute took place late Saturday night in Mangalwar Peth, causing panic in the area. No one was injured. The Faraskhana police have arrested two men in connection with the case.
The accused have been identified as Rohit Mane (30), and Qasim Asif Ansari (23), both residents of Lohianagar. The complaint was filed by Kiran Kedari (37), a resident of Gokhalenagar, at the Faraskhana police station.
According to police officials, Kedari was chatting with friends Shyam Gaikwad, Ashfaq Sheikh, and Santosh Kamble near Bhimnagar Kamani in Mangalwar Peth at around 1:30 am on Saturday when Mane and Ansari passed by on a two-wheeler.
Kedari and his friends asked the two-wheeler riders to be more careful while driving in the area, which led to an argument. During the confrontation, Ansari reportedly pulled out a pistol from his waist and fired at Kedari. He then fired two additional shots into the air.
Frightened by the incident, Kedari and his friends fled the scene. Shortly afterward, Rohit Mane returned, expressing a desire to resolve the issue. The group apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
The Faraskhana police, after receiving information, apprehended Ansari, who had fled the scene. Both men are known to police as recorded criminals. Authorities are investigating the reasons behind their possession of the pistol and its source.
The case is being investigated by Police Sub-Inspector Arvind Shinde.
