Pune: FIRs Registered Against 571 People For Violating Lockdown Rules

Pune, 28th April 2021: Pune City Police has taken action against 571 people in the last 23 days for violating lockdown rules. The case has been registered against violators under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As the Covid-19 positive cases are rising in the city, many people are following self-discipline and not coming out from the home. This year people are following the Covid guidelines as compared to the previous year, Therefore police choose not to take strict action. They are inquiring about people going outside and action is being taken against those who are not following the rules.

Last year, the police had taken strict action against the citizens who were seen roaming in the city unnecessarily. More than 27,000 people faced action in the last lockdown and some were even beaten by the police.
