Pune: First Start-Up Company Inaugurated At Defence Institute of Advanced Technology
Pune, January 21, 2021: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Deemed to be University of DRDO, Ministry of Defence, has opened its door for entrepreneurship and start-ups programmes through its Innovation and Incubation Centre (IIC) policy.
DIAT has meticulously framed IIC policy and is promoting their faculty and alumni to launch their start-up companies in the DIAT campus. The idea is to develop indigenous solutions for various technological challenges within the country and to contribute the Govt of India’s ambitious project of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”
As an initiative, the IIC-DIAT hosted its first company in campus, namely, “Navyukti Innovations Private Limited”. This company is led by Prof. Sangeeta Kale of DIAT along with medical professionals, market experts, and DIAT alumni.
Navyukti Innovations Private Limited mainly works on the development of biomedical devices, drug delivery vehicles and advanced sensors. The company has been inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor, Dr C.P. Ramanarayanan, on 20th January 2021.
On this occasion, Dr C. P. Ramanarayanan, VC DIAT informed that “Under the IIC-DIAT policy, our endeavour will to establish and promote entrepreneurship and start-up centres in the field of futuristic technologies, in addition to Defence Technology. It also aims to engage students, research scholars and faculty of Institute in the IIC activities”.
