Pune: Five Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants Arrested In Pimpri Chinchwad

Bhosari, 27th May 2024: The Anti-Terrorism Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad police has apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in India with forged documents. The operation took place on Saturday in the Shantinagar area of Bhosari.

The arrested individuals are identified as Shamim Nurol Rana (26), Raj alias Samrat Sadan Adhikari (27), Jalil Naru Sheikh alias Jalil Noor Mohammad Goldar (38), Wasim Aziz Ulhaq Mandal alias Wasim Ajiul Haq Hira (26), and Azad Shamshul Sheikh.

Police Constable Suyog Lande from the Anti-Terrorism Branch has lodged a complaint at the Bhosari Police Station, leading to the arrests of five Bangladeshi nationals, including Abul Kalam Shamshuddin Fakir (32) and two others, for document forgery.

According to the police, the accused are Bangladeshi nationals who were living in India without valid licenses or documents. They had procured fake Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, school leaving certificates, and passports to facilitate their illegal stay.

Upon receiving intelligence about their activities, the Anti-Terrorism team conducted a raid, resulting in the arrest of all five individuals. The police confiscated various items, including SIM cards and mobile phones worth Rs. 11,000, along with Airtel company SIM cards.

The Bhosari police have filed a case against the accused under the Foreigners Act, the Passports Act, and the Entry into India Rules. Further investigations are underway to uncover more details about their illegal activities and any potential connections to larger networks.
