Pune: Five-Member Gang Held for Stealing Silver Jewellery From Lohgaon Shop

Pune, 22nd August 2026: Lohgaon Police have arrested five people for allegedly stealing silver ornaments from a jewellery shop by distracting the staff and using sleight of hand. Police recovered the stolen ornaments and seized the car allegedly used in the crime, with the total value of the recovered property estimated at Rs 2.5 lakh.
A case has been registered at Lohgaon Police Station under Sections 305 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) under Crime Register No. 209/2026.
Senior Police Inspector Manisha Patil said the investigation team had been directed to trace the stolen silver ornaments and identify those involved in the offence. Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Shinde was placed in charge of the investigation team.
According to Patil, police personnel Shailesh Kudale and Dadasaheb Barde examined CCTV footage and conducted a technical analysis during the investigation. Acting on information received from an informant, the team identified Kalpana Ankush Kamble and her alleged associates as the suspects.
Those arrested have been identified as Kalpana Ankush Kamble (47), a homemaker from Gosavi Vasti in Hadapsar; Pandurang Ramgaikwad (42), a resident of Rubinagar in Nigdi; Diksha Vasant Shelar (32), also from Rubinagar in Nigdi; Suman Babasaheb Korake (62), a resident of Gosavi Vasti in Hadapsar; and Uttam Babasaheb Korake (45), a resident of Mharal village near Gavdevi Temple in Shahadgaon, Kalyan West, Thane.
“The suspects’ involvement emerged during questioning after they were taken into custody. The stolen silver ornaments and the four-wheeler used in the offence, collectively valued at Rs 2.5 lakh, were seized,” Inspector Patil said.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police, East Region, Manoj Patil; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 7, Abinash Kumar; and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lonikand Division, Anita More.
Senior Police Inspector Manisha Patil and Police Inspector (Crime) Rakesh Kadam supervised the operation.
Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Shinde and police personnel Amit Gaikwad, Dadasaheb Barde, Balasaheb Shirsath, Jyotiram Devkate, Dnyandev Avari, Shailesh Kudale, Pritam Jangam, Bablu Bhise and Mohan Palve were part of the team that carried out the operation.
